![]() ![]() I wonder if you just located the seal in a slightly different position in the plate, therefore a different place on the crank - out of the groove - if it would seal better. The crank had no ring on it when we got to it, and the seal had worn a groove into the crank. looks like my baby was in a wreck before! oh well lol.Ĭleaned up a little, still have to do more.Well, the truck we've done twice is a '91 with the IDI, very similar set up as far as I can tell to the psd, but I've not pulled mine apart yet so I can't say for sure. This could explain a small warp i have in a hood. I now know for sure that the quarter panel was replaced though. no idea what that white putty like material is between the two lips. if not, then i guess i will go with por15 and some Bondo to seal up the holes. I might try and see if my buddy with a welder can come over and weld up the worst side up a little better. luckily this was not the case! However i still have quite a bit of work ahead of me. I thought for sure when i took off the seal, almost all of the lip would be gone. It gives a part number but it doesn't exist in Toyota db to my knowledge.Īnyways here are the damage results, I'm actually kind of relieved that it is not as bad as i had originally thought. only issue i am having is the last step suggests putting adhesive between the glass and weatherstripping as well ans the body and weatherstripping. I followed the section under body rear glass removal and it was a big help. topic=5158 (great source of information). before i started i looked at the AE86 manual on. It's amazing and also scary about how much glass can flex.Īlso, Youtube might have some watchable stuff. Old ladies do it in 20 seconds on assembly lines with the biggest non-nerf hammer you'll ever see. Soap/go-jo & string to flip the lip over the frame & 2 people working together are all I can suggest.
